Physio Focus Community Update

Our mission, first and foremost, has always been about your health. As part of this mission, our staff are closely monitoring the situation regarding the novel corona virus known as COVID-19.

Our top priority is preventing the transmission of the corona virus among the patients we serve, which is why we are closely following guidelines pertaining to group events in affected areas.

At this stage the clinic will remain open, treating as per normal. If you feel uncomfortable coming into the clinic at this time, please call the clinic to notify us as soon as possible so that we can either organise a remote consultation over the phone, or re-book your appointment for the future.

If we decide to alter our clinic ours due to health and safety considerations, all patients will be informed with as much notice as possible. But since this is a rapidly evolving situation, these decisions may need to be made at the last minute.

And of course, if you find yourself developing symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, shortness of breath, and coughing, please call the clinic and reschedule your appointment, do not come in to the clinic. We will happily postpone your attendance to a future event when you are again healthy and well.

The following precautions are being taken in the clinic to ensure your safety:

1.    Our facilities will be thoroughly cleaned every two hours to ensure the space will be adequately disinfected prior to your attendance. This will include all major touch points in the clinic.

2.    Alcohol gel will be available around the clinic. Please ensure you use it when you enter and leave the clinic.

3.    Use of new disposable bed sheets for each new patient.

4.    Our staff has been asked to thoroughly was their hands with soap and water, or alcohol gel between patients.

5.    All patients are being asked some relevant questions at every appointment regarding their recent travels, potential contact with known infected persons, and about the presence of any flu symptoms.

6.    Private rooms can be used to minimise contact with other patients and staff in the clinic if requested. Please notify us in advance over the phone so that we can ensure the availability at either the Gymea or Cronulla rooms.

7.    Any clinic attendee who is showing symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked to leave.

Please bear in mind that despite mixed messages in the media, most experts indicate the immediate health risk remains low in Australia.

Thank you for your understanding as we work through this difficult situation. Please be assured we will continue to closely monitor future developments and will follow up if additional measures must be taken.
